Lunchtime Readings at the Irish Writers Centre

The Irish Writers’ Centre and Poetry Ireland invite you to a series of free Lunchtime Readings at the Irish Writers’ Centre in the heart of Dublin’s cultural quarter at 19 Parnell Square. From February through to April, a host of award-winning authors and poets will read every Friday at 1 pm. This bite-size format offers the busiest of book-lovers the chance to savour the best in contemporary Irish writing.
Friday 22nd February – Ken Bruen
Ken is the celebrated author of the Jack Taylor series, White Trilogy and the winner of the Shamus Award as well as the recipient of the first David Loeb Goodis Award.
Friday 1st March – Rosemarie Rowley
Rosemarie is the author five collections and is the four time winner of the Epic Award in the Scottish International Poetry Competition.
Friday 8th March – Selina Guinness
Selina was shortlisted for the 2012 Costa Biography Award and the Sunday Independent Newcomer of the Year for her first novel The Crocodile by the Door.
Friday 15th March – A Reading with Poetry Ireland

David is the author of the acclaimed Truth Commissioner and The Light of Amsterdam which was shortlisted for Eason Novel of the Year at the 2012 Bord Gáis Energy Irish Book Awards.

Friday 5th April – Donal Ryan
Donal’s first novel, The Spinning Heart won both Newcomer of the Year and overall Book of the Year at the Bord Gáis Irish Book Energy Awards 2012.

Dublin: One City One Book 2013
Dublin
A month long festival, Dublin One City One Book Festival takes place in April every year. Organised by Dublin City Libraries in association with libraries, galleries, churches, cafes and theatres in the city, this festival encourages citizens and visitors to engage with activities which celebrate a book which is connected with the city.
James Plunkett’s Strumpet City has been chosen for this year’s festival. Programme details will be available on www.dublinonecityonebook.ie in the upcoming months.
